PARADISE FOR THE MASSES ?

From the time immemorial

To the masses promises were made.

A worthy life for all sundry,

A better life to come.

This is the ray of hope,

Tenaciously held onto by common man,

Believing a change will come,

A change to better their lives.

From Generation to generation,

This hope diminishes.

As all these promises failed

Promises of a better life.

Why has the common man

Put his hope on rulers,

But failed to look onto God

Unto him to cast their burden.

They wait for paradise to come

The Paradise that never come

Even when Jesus was on earth

Crucifixion was his gain.

Paradise for the masses, they say,

To use as their ladder to fame,

After which we are left in the lurch,

A glimpse of hope for another day.

Paradise for the masses?

A long dream to wake.
