The forerunner of Christ,

Born in the family of the Levites

Leather girdle around your waist;

Wild honey your food.

You gave your all to Christ,

Trusted in the kingdom of Christ,

“Saying the kingdom of God is at Hand”

All should repent.

With seriousness, you evangelise the coming of Christ,

You evangelise his coming to the people.

Asking them to change their ways,

For the wages of sin is death.

You stood firm till the end,

Unfazed even in the face of death,

As you solemnly bowed out of this world,

And its blemish nature.

Your life a lesson to me,

To always stand firm in what I believe,

Hold tenaciously unto my God and Savior,

Even till the end of life.
