THE BIAFRA ILLITERATES PART 2
How can they know the pain,
The underneath pain of the elders,
Why was the intrigues of war,
Hidden from their children.
Was it their tribe?
Was it their pride?
Was it their ego?
Was it the shame of defeat?
Truth is bitter,
Yet, it must be said,
The war was fought and lost;
Reason the war was lost
Was never cause of betrayal.
The general lost, out of impatience,
He lost; not looking far beyond the battle
He lost, not knowing the intricacies of the political world.
He lost with overconfidence.
The book of Biafra,
Though dusty and buried,
Only the truth can make it stay buried,
Not the tainted stories of generations,
To the Biafra illiterates.
